Welcome to Horley Swimming Club
We provide teaching and training from beginner to more advanced level. The club is affiliated to the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association).
We endeavour to provide a relaxed environment in which children can learn and benefit from the social and physical advantages of swimming in a club.
Our lessons cater for children as young as 5 and go through to the adults who swim in advanced sessions. The adult members have an active social group as well.
The club is run entirely by volunteers. Our instructors give their time free of charge which allows us to offer lessons at a reasonable cost.
History
The Club was formed during the 1970s by a number of local people who wanted to provide the children of Horley with an affordable opportunity to learn to swim. Using the old Horley Anderson Pool as its base, the numbers soon swelled so that a membership waiting list had to be created. In 2012 the Club moved with the pool to the new premises in Anderson Way off Court Lodge Road.
Instructors
All of our instructors are volunteers, giving their time free of charge, and have been CRB checked. A number of them have come up the ranks from younger members to becoming instructors.
